Scope of use

TERMOFLEX® EPS W-55 is not easily flammable thermal insulation material from expanded polystyrene (EPS) with a very high density (45 kg/m3). The boards are with very high strength  and  mechanical  properties  and  they  are  quite suitable for thermal insulation of premises that are subjected to extreme loading pressure. They are recommended for geotechnical thermal insulation (of roads, highways, railways, airports, etc.) The material is also excellent for thermal insulation of foundations, balconies, parking lots parking lots and paving paths near by buildings where a large traffic expected.

The boards possess thermal insulation properties, accurate dimensions and are resistant to aging. They do not change their shape and do not shrink. This makes them perfect for thermal insulation of ice skating rinks and other winter sports facilities. They prevent freezing of the platform, decrease tremendously the requirements for the cooling capacity and the time, needed for formation of the ice, as well as energy costs for maintaining the facility.

TERMOFLEX®  EPS W-55 can be used for geotechnical thermal insulation in road and railway constructions as a protective layer in the building of roads, trails and tracks preventing them from freezing and subsequent damage. Thus reducing the costs for reparation and maintaining the road infrastructure. In addition the material helps for reduction and proportional distribution of the load on the road in areas where the ground is unstable. Its high resistance to bending and tearing makes it also very suitable for distribution of load in soils which are often flooded.

The material is also used for pressure reduction and distribution of the soil at approaches of bridges and trestles and for general reduction of their weight, as well as for the restoration of partly collapsed roads and landslides.
