Extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation material is featuring a very high strength against pressure, high and durable thermal insulation properties and minimal water absorption.


Insulation boards made of extruded polystyrene (XPS) are characterized by excellent mechanical properties and above all resistance to pressure. They are especially suitable for areas where extreme loads of pressure impose high demands on the insulation material (green and open for walking roofs, bottom mortar, flat bottom, sloped or pitched roofs, roof terraces, floors between storeys, in-floor heating, roof type parking or industrial floors, sustaining high loads, etc.).

Unlike other insulation materials, extruded polystyrene (XPS) has a maximum closed cell structure, which after proper installation is virtually precluding the passage of water through the plates and also greatly reduces the diffusion of water vapor through the material. These properties determine the limits of its application as insulating material - in places affected by intensive moisture, and its inapplicability as facade insulation (because of stopping the diffusion of water vapor through the facade). It is suitable for thermal insulation of wall-base and perimeter, insulation under the foundation slab in wet rooms, refrigerating cameras and more.

Further, it is recommended for thermal insulation and prevention of thermal bridges (balconies, windows and door frames, concrete columns, beams, bay windows, etc.).
